Boiled down, how blocking actually behaves becomes obvious only after a month. What free live cam sites have the most active amateur models?
I went in expecting something different here, before forming any view. The recurring theme was how the ranking rewards activity — it is the first thing I would look at now.
I asked three friends who use these regularly in my own time, and it reframed what I thought mattered. The measurable difference came down to the quality of the profile prompts, which is worth checking before you commit any time. That held without exception regardless of how active I was. Adjust from what you actually see in the end, and no thread substitutes for that.
The short list of what mattered:
Look at how much of your social graph it wants — it decided things for me.
Check whether the sign-up asks for a phone number — I would treat this as a dealbreaker.
How much information is public before you match — it changes the experience completely.
How quickly obvious fakes disappear — worth asking about before you invest time.
I started sceptical across two cities, and stopped assuming the obvious answer was right. The honest answer is that whether the app works on a slow connection sets the ceiling on what you can achieve. The difference persisted in a way I could measure in replies rather than in match counts.

I logged what actually happened a while back, rather than just skimming a couple of apps. Strip out the noise and photo quality on both sides sets the ceiling on what you can achieve. The difference was visible without exception in each of the areas I tested. Worth a fortnight of your time on balance, so treat this as a starting point.

I went back through my own messages to check across two cities, and I would do it the same way again. What actually decided it was the share of accounts that are dormant, which shapes the first fortnight more than anything. The gap was widest more than once in a way the app store reviews never captured. Do not take this as gospel for what it is worth, the basics matter more than the tuning.
I trialled the free tiers only here, and it clarified a lot. For me, how new accounts are treated in week one is worth more than any feature list. That held again and again more clearly than anything else I looked at.
I checked this against my own numbers here, and it reframed what I thought mattered. What actually decided it was the share of accounts that are dormant, which separates the usable options from the rest. The result repeated to a degree that mattered well beyond what I would call noise. Do not take this as gospel in the end, before changing anything else.

I have changed my mind on this twice here, because the advice online contradicts itself. Consistently, the actual reply rate is worth checking before you commit any time. It was consistent to a degree that mattered in a way the app store reviews never captured. Worth a fortnight of your time frankly, before committing any real time.
Lightweight options I jotted down while reading around: rendate.site, datebound.site, ezhookups.online.
On the alternatives side, datebound.site is the one I hear about most often.

I have changed my mind on this twice on this, rather than just skimming a couple of apps. Where it actually landed was the size of the local pool — that moves the numbers more than anything else. It stood out fairly clearly no matter how I adjusted the filters.

I looked at what changed since last year a while back, and the conclusion was not what I wanted. Consistently, how wide the distance filter goes predicts your reply rate better than anything else. The evidence pointed the same way reliably after I controlled for the obvious variables.

Sorry, but I do not think that holds. manual verification sounds good but in practice it slows signup and the fakes still get through. Could well be my sample.
