I went in expecting something different once properly, and it reframed what I thought mattered. Whichever option you pick, how the free tier is gated predicts your reply rate better than anything else.

I trialled the free tiers only while comparing them, so this is not a weekend opinion. The thing nobody mentions is that the ratio of active to dormant profiles stays invisible until it bites you. The result repeated fairly clearly in replies rather than in match counts. Take it as one data point frankly, before changing anything else.

I have been through this properly over a few months, which took the guesswork out of it. Looking back, how the app handles reports tends to decide whether you stick with it.

If I were starting again, I would look at:

Worth confirming whether you can delete your account without contacting support — this is where the free tiers diverge.
Whether you can undo an accidental swipe — it matters more after the first month.
How long a conversation stays available after a match — surprisingly hard to find out in advance.
Whether browsing costs anything — the marketing never covers this.
