Is plentyoffish dating app full of bots? Free signup and paid messaging is the standard pattern now.

I tried the obvious options first a while back, before I was willing to recommend anything. Strip out the noise and how the app treats people who travel becomes obvious only after a month. It stood out fairly clearly regardless of how I framed the profile. I would weigh it accordingly genuinely, so treat this as a starting point.

I paid attention to the details this time with a couple of accounts, and it reframed what I thought mattered. The pattern was clear enough: how much the interface pushes a subscription changes noticeably month to month. The difference persisted fairly clearly in each of the areas I tested. Whether it generalises I do not know frankly, if your experience points elsewhere.

If I were starting again, I would look at:

  • How the app behaves after a fortnight away — it is easy to test and rarely advertised.
  • Ask how quickly support answers a real problem — most apps are quiet about this.
  • How the app handles people who never reply — it changes the experience completely.

I tested a handful of these back to back a while back, and it was worth the effort. The variable that mattered was whether photos are checked before publication — it is what people are really complaining about. It was consistent to a degree that mattered for both of the accounts I tested.

I logged what actually happened over a few months, so this is not a weekend opinion. The honest answer is that the quality of the profile prompts tends to decide whether you stick with it. The effect showed up more than once even after I changed my photos. Reasonable people disagree here honestly, the detail varies a lot by city.

I approached this the boring way with a couple of accounts, and it was more revealing than I expected. For me, the actual reply rate is the part the marketing never mentions. It was measurable every time across a reasonable sample. It cost me nothing to verify really, and no thread substitutes for that.

I did this the slow way without rushing it, and it reframed what I thought mattered. Consistently, how quickly fake profiles get removed is the difference between two opposite reviews.

I also tested what Flamedate is doing for a week just to have something to compare against.

I have been through this properly with a couple of accounts, which made the differences much easier to see. Consistently, photo quality on both sides decides most of the outcome. That held fairly clearly on both the free and the paid side. Try it before you believe it frankly, before committing any real time.

I have changed my mind on this twice over a few months, instead of going on impressions. What actually decided it was the share of accounts that are dormant, which is the thing people consistently underestimate.

Others in the same bracket: datebound.site, rendate.site, ezhookups.online.

Someone in another thread pointed me at Ezhookups, which was at least worth a look.

I gave up on guessing and just measured once properly, since nobody else seemed to have done it. The thing nobody mentions is that how easy it is to delete an account shapes the first fortnight more than anything.

Not a recommendation as such, but datingfly.online is the other name that keeps surfacing.

I asked around before drawing any conclusion before deciding, so take it as tested rather than assumed. Boiled down, the amount of information visible before matching is where the real differences show up. It stood out fairly clearly in a way the app store reviews never captured. Take it as one data point on balance, before changing anything else.

Addison Hughes is right about the profile side. Where it differs is that the moderation quality is invisible until you actually need to report someone.

rendate.site gets brought up in most threads like this, so I gave it a try.

Not everyone will agree, including me. the emphasis on filters overlooks how few people fill in the fields they filter on. That is just what I saw.
