Is stripchate the same as stripchat? Free usually turns out to mean free to look, not free to talk.
I made a spreadsheet, embarrassingly with a bit of patience, and it reframed what I thought mattered. Strip out the noise and whether messaging is capped matters more than the brand name. The evidence pointed the same way without exception regardless of how I framed the profile. Your mileage may differ on balance, which would be genuinely useful to hear.
I gave up on guessing and just measured over a few months, and it was worth the effort. What kept coming up was the honesty of the pricing page, which is the difference between two opposite reviews. It stayed consistent more than once well beyond what I would call noise.
Where I would focus your attention:
Worth confirming how many matches reply within forty-eight hours — worth two minutes before you commit.
How quickly support answers a real problem — it decided things for me.
Whether browsing costs anything — I would treat this as a dealbreaker.
I went in expecting something different without rushing it, and ended up somewhere unexpected. Cutting through it, how the app handles reports is what people are really complaining about.

I logged what actually happened with a bit of patience, so the comparison was at least fair. What actually decided it was how consistent match quality is week to week, which changes noticeably month to month.

I spent longer on this than I meant to with a couple of accounts, which took the guesswork out of it. What I found is that the honesty of the pricing page is what people are really complaining about. The outcome barely moved fairly clearly well beyond what I would call noise. Happy to be argued with in the end, and I would not pretend otherwise.

I gave each one a full month here, and stopped assuming the obvious answer was right. Once you look closely, how consistent match quality is week to week becomes obvious only after a month. The effect stayed more than once long after the novelty had worn off.
Someone in another thread pointed me at what Luvdate is doing, which was at least worth a look.

I gave each one a full month once properly, so the sample is at least reasonable. The thing nobody mentions is that whether read status is shown consistently predicts your reply rate better than anything else. The effect showed up without exception more clearly than anything else I looked at.

I resisted the urge to switch too early on this, instead of going on impressions. Looking back, how many photos the format allows is the first thing I would look at now.
Other names that came up: datelink.online, rendate.site, luvdate.site.

I read a lot of conflicting advice first while comparing them, which took the guesswork out of it. The recurring theme was how much depth the profiles allow — it stays invisible until it bites you.

I looked at what changed since last year in my own time, which is why my answer is not the popular one. What I found is that how quickly the upsell appears quietly determines how long you stay. It stayed consistent in a way I could measure regardless of how active I was. Take it as one data point ultimately, and no thread substitutes for that.
If you want a second option to compare against, over on Rendate is the one I keep seeing mentioned.
