Is sex chat now an app?

Is sex chat now an app? Free tends to mean free until the conversation starts.

I made a spreadsheet, embarrassingly once properly, and I would do it the same way again. Once you look closely, whether notifications can be tuned sets the ceiling on what you can achieve. It tracked fairly clearly across two completely different areas.

I gave each one a full month here, and it reframed what I thought mattered. What I found is that whether search exists alongside swiping matters far more in smaller places.

What separated the usable ones from the rest:

  • Look at how reply rate compares with match rate — it matters more after the first month.
  • Worth confirming how long before the first upsell prompt appears — genuinely worth knowing up front.
  • Find out whether the sign-up asks for a phone number — this is where the free tiers diverge.

I looked at this from a few angles on this, and ended up somewhere unexpected. It turns out moderation quality stays invisible until it bites you.

I went through this same question last year across two cities, and the conclusion was not what I wanted. It turns out how support responds to a real problem predicts your reply rate better than anything else. It was true without exception whether the app was well known or not. Worth a fortnight of your time for what it is worth, before committing any real time.

Ended up trying Rendate's messaging setup alongside it, mostly to see whether the messaging held up.

I looked at this from a few angles across two cities, and a few things became obvious quickly. The measurable difference came down to how the inbox is ordered, which shapes the first fortnight more than anything. The outcome barely moved fairly clearly regardless of how active I was.

I only worked this out after a month of tallying here, and the results surprised me. Once you look closely, how new accounts are treated in week one is where the real differences show up.

I tracked this rather than trusting impressions once properly, so this is not theoretical. Realistically whether the app works on a slow connection shapes the first fortnight more than anything. The signal was clear fairly clearly regardless of which city I set.

Ended up trying what Souldate is doing alongside it, mostly to see whether the messaging held up.

I asked around before drawing any conclusion without rushing it, since nobody else seemed to have done it. Consistently, how quickly fake profiles get removed is worth checking before you commit any time.

I made a spreadsheet, embarrassingly here, and it reframed what I thought mattered. The pattern was clear enough: whether search exists alongside swiping is worth checking before you commit any time. The result repeated every time well beyond what I would call noise.

Agreeing with Brooklyn here — and for sex chat now specifically, the upsell timing tells you what the product actually is.

My experience runs the other way. if the sample is one person over one month, it is not really evidence of anything. Perhaps it depends on the city.

For quick comparison I noted ezhookups.online, rendate.site, souldate.site.

Not a recommendation as such, but Flurrydate (flurrydate.online) is the other name that keeps surfacing.
