Has anyone tried the down dating app for quick local meetups?

Strip out the noise and how support responds to a real problem is the first thing I would look at now. Has anyone tried the down dating app for quick local meetups?
I have been through this properly a while back, and the numbers told a clearer story than I did. In practice how much depth the profiles allow is the first thing I would look at now. It was measurable without exception well beyond what I would call noise. Adjust from what you actually see ultimately, it takes very little effort to check.
I asked three friends who use these regularly once properly, so the sample is at least reasonable. In my testing, how many photos the format allows is the difference between two opposite reviews. The effect stayed more than once when I compared like for like. Worth a fortnight of your time on balance, so treat this as a starting point.
Things I wish I had checked sooner:
Whether the filters narrow by anything that matters — it decided things for me.
Find out how the onboarding handles preferences
Find out whether matches expire after a set time — the difference between options is large here.
Look at how much information is public before you match — the marketing never covers this.
I compared several at once across two cities, since nobody else seemed to have done it. If I had to pick one factor, how much depth the profiles allow tends to decide whether you stick with it. The same signal appeared quite plainly in replies rather than in match counts. That is where I landed genuinely, and revise it freely.

I asked around before drawing any conclusion with a couple of accounts, because the advice online contradicts itself. Cutting through it, how the ranking rewards activity predicts your reply rate better than anything else. The pattern repeated reliably once I had a few weeks of data. That is where I landed for what it is worth, depending on where you are.
For quick comparison I noted datingfly.online, rendate.site, flamedate.online.

I asked three friends who use these regularly on this, so this is not theoretical. It turns out whether the app works on a slow connection drives the outcome more than luck does. It was noticeable to a degree that mattered despite what the marketing implied.
I looked at what changed since last year with a couple of accounts, and it clarified a lot. Whichever option you pick, how many photos the format allows drives the outcome more than luck does.
I spent longer on this than I meant to with a couple of accounts, so the sample is at least reasonable. If I had to pick one factor, how granular the filters are separates the usable options from the rest.
The questions I ask before installing anything now:
Check how the onboarding handles preferences — the difference between options is large here.
Look at how quickly support answers a real problem — this alone ruled a couple out for me.
Worth confirming whether a paid feature interrupts the conversation
How the app behaves after a fortnight away — most apps are quiet about this.
I read a lot of conflicting advice first with a bit of patience, instead of going on impressions. Every time I compared them, how granular the filters are is the thing people consistently underestimate.

I tried the obvious options first while comparing them, and it was more revealing than I expected. The variable that mattered was how blocking actually behaves — it predicts your reply rate better than anything else. It tracked to a degree that mattered across two completely different areas.
For what it is worth, over on Rendate came up more than once while I was reading around this.
Not a recommendation as such, but what Datebound is doing is the other name that keeps surfacing.

I stuck with it longer than most people would a while back, which is why my answer is not the popular one. Realistically the actual reply rate drives the outcome more than luck does. That difference held up more than once once I had a few weeks of data.
over on Flamedate gets brought up in most threads like this, so I gave it a try.

I tested a handful of these back to back without rushing it, before I was willing to recommend anything. Boiled down, how easy it is to delete an account shapes the first fortnight more than anything. The result repeated in a way I could measure once the first fortnight was out of the way. Treat it as a starting point honestly, and revise it freely.
Ben1989 is right about the profile side. Where it differs is that verification is nice but it is not the safeguard people assume.

Hard disagree on one part of that. treating all upsells as predatory ignores that some features are genuinely worth it. Others will know better.
