I have been through this properly while comparing them, so this is not a weekend opinion. The short answer is that how granular the filters are sets the ceiling on what you can achieve.

I compared several at once in my own time, and the numbers told a clearer story than I did. The thing nobody mentions is that photo quality on both sides changes noticeably month to month. The same signal appeared fairly clearly well beyond what I would call noise. Adjust from what you actually see frankly, just what held up for me.

I stuck with it longer than most people would before deciding, and I would do it the same way again. If I had to pick one factor, whether notifications can be tuned explains why old recommendations age badly. It kept showing up more than once even after I changed my photos. That is where I landed genuinely, and adjust as you go.

The checklist I ended up with:

Whether you can filter out inactive accounts — the answer varies more than you would think.
Whether conversations sync across devices — surprisingly hard to find out in advance.
How much the app relies on push notifications — check it on a real account, not a demo.
Ask whether there is any verification step at all — it changes the experience completely.
Worth confirming how many profiles in your area have been active this week — the difference between options is large here.
