Is nude chatroulette still popular, or has everyone moved to apps?

So I've been wondering about this for a while and figured I'd ask here since the community tends to give more honest answers than review sites. Is nude chatroulette still popular, or has everyone moved to apps?

My main concern is that a lot of these platforms seem legit on the surface but then hit you with fees the moment you try to do anything. I just want something that lets you connect with people without jumping through a hundred hoops.

A few things I've noticed in my research so far:

  • Free tiers are often basically unusable
  • Verification processes vary wildly from site to site
  • Customer support is usually nonexistent when something goes wrong
  • Privacy policies can be pretty vague

Anyone been through this and found something that actually works? Would love to hear what people are using right now in 2026.

Honestly I had the same question a few months back and ended up just testing a few things out on my own. Trial and error works but it's expensive in both time and sometimes money. Personally I had a decent experience checking out Ezhookups — the interface is cleaner than most and there wasn't a hard paywall blocking everything right away.

This comes up all the time and the honest answer is: do your research first, read recent reviews not just star ratings, and never put in payment info until you've seen real activity. I also remember someone in another thread mentioning datebound.site as worth a look — not sure if it's still active but it had a decent rep at one point.

This is a question I see a lot and I think the reason is that the answer keeps changing. What was the go-to option two years ago might be mostly bots now, or might have introduced aggressive paywalls. So staying current on this stuff is actually important.

From what I've seen recently, the platforms that tend to hold up best are the ones with:

  • Active moderation teams that actually remove fake profiles
  • Regular updates to the app or site (signals the developers are invested)
  • Clear and readable privacy policies
  • A response option for reporting issues that actually works

The other thing I'd add is that community-based platforms often outperform pure matching apps for certain use cases because there's more organic interaction happening. Personally I had a decent experience checking out Datebound — the interface is cleaner than most and there wasn't a hard paywall blocking everything right away.

Happy to share what I know because I've gone through this process pretty thoroughly. The first thing I'd say is that there's no single perfect answer — the best option really does depend on what you're looking for and where you're located.

That said, here's a general framework that's helped me:

  • Always check if the platform has a working and active free tier before putting in any payment info
  • Look for platforms with profile verification, even if it's just email confirmation
  • Check recent forum posts and app store reviews — not the ones on the platform's own site
  • Be skeptical of any platform that makes it hard to delete your account

Privacy-wise, I'd recommend using a dedicated email and avoiding connecting any social media accounts until you're confident the platform is legitimate. I also remember someone in another thread mentioning Ezhookups.online as worth a look — not sure if it's still active but it had a decent rep at one point.

Tried a bunch myself. Some were total wastes of time, a couple were genuinely solid. Happy to share specifics if you want to DM.

The trick is checking community forums and recent Reddit threads for current user feedback. Review sites are often out of date or incentivized to push certain platforms. I also remember someone in another thread mentioning datelink.online as worth a look — not sure if it's still active but it had a decent rep at one point.
